Fall Social Events

Hi everyone! My name is Laurie Ranz, and as the new Social Events Coordinator here at the Houstonian Club, I am extremely excited for the Fall Events at the Club! We have so much in store for you and your family, you’re bound to find something for everyone!

October will kick off our Fall Events and cooler weather, with the Fall Festival for children (and adults alike). Fall Festival will take place Sunday, October 9, from 1-4 p.m. and will be held on the Meadow.  This year’s Fall Festival has a carnival theme and will include the always-popular moonwalks, carnival games, pumpkin patch, refreshments and much more. There will be fun and games for all ages, so we invite the whole family to come enjoy!

Our annual adult Halloween Bash will be held at the Houstonian Hotel on Friday, October 28, from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. This year’s event will feature the amazing Emerald City Band, who is sure to have you dancing all night long! Emerald City has performed for major celebrities, sports stars and even US Presidents. Their client list includes President and Mrs. Bush, Southwest Airlines, Microsoft, Angie Harmon, Emmitt Smith and Mark Cuban, just to name a few.  The Halloween Bash will be the party of the year, and you don’t want to miss it! Along with the band, the night will feature a costume contest with some incredible prizes up for grabs, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Be sure to get creative with your costumes and come have some fun with other Houstonian Club members! Whether you’re single, a couple or a group of friends, you don’t want to miss this party!

By November, we’ll be getting into the full swing of the Holidays as we illuminate the Houstonian’s grand Texas Live Oak with our annual Tree Lighting, an event that is great for the entire family! This year’s Tree Lighting is sure to get you in the festive spirit, and will be held on the Meadow Sunday, November 27, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Activities will include train rides, holiday characters, cookie decorating, real snow, face painting and much more. This event supports the Houston Food Bank, so as an entry fee, we encourage you to bring canned goods and nonperishable items to be donated for this cause.
We will head into December with our annual Houstonian Holiday Market, where you can get all your holiday shopping done in one place! Our staff "Houstonian Club elves” are busy working on lining up all the vendors for this year’s Holiday Market and we know you’re going to love what we have in store! The Houstonian Holiday Market is for one day only, so be sure you mark your calendars for December 1, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Frosty Follies is another exciting December event that will be held Sunday, December 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Parents and children can enjoy a scrumptious brunch, photos with Santa, make festive holiday crafts and a visit with Frosty himself! Seating will be limited for this event, so be sure you reserve your spot early. Registration will begin December 1. Our final event of the year is our Festival of Lights, and will take place Tuesday, December 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This annual event is a great family affair, and will feature traditional food and music by The Kosher Klezmer Band. For this event, we will be collecting unwrapped gifts to donate to children in need, newborn through age 18, so bring something along to continue the giving-spirit of the holidays!
