Laundry Service Recommendations

Season’s Greetings from all the wonderful staff in your Associate and Resident locker rooms! The Houstonian prides itself on giving the best possible service to our Members in all areas of the Club, and some of the most positive feedback we receive from our membership is appreciation for our attendants who take such great care of our Members in this area. Thank you to those of you who share praise for this hard-working team. 

Although all Members may not utilize each area of the Club, most Members do frequently visit the locker rooms, and some also choose to utilize our laundry service to have workout/fitness clothing and undergarments washed and dried for their convenience. In order to make sure your experience is successful, we want to share the following information regarding our provided laundry service:

  1. Due to the large volume of laundry items on our campus, our system utilizes commercial washers and dryers which use high heat during the washing and drying process to ensure the sanitation of the clothing, towels, and linens that are being laundered. 
  2. This process is not ideal for higher end apparel (Ex: lululemon) or any other fine washables, and placing these types of items in our laundry could result in an unfavorable outcome. It is advisable that this type of fitness apparel and/or undergarments NOT be placed in our laundry, and the Club is not able to reimburse for this type of damage.
  3. The process includes laundry being placed in the provided mesh bags, pinned for locker location, and dropped into the provided laundry bins by Members. The laundry is then transported by our locker room attendants, washed, dried, and folded by our laundry staff, and then returned to the Member’s locker by our attendants.
  4. We have many measures in place to ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible, but since there are multiple steps, there is margin for error, and it is always advisable to have an extra set of workout clothing on hand in the event the process takes longer than expected. 
  5. Estimated turnaround time for the laundry from start to finish is 24 to 48 hours. 
  6. In the event an item is lost or misplaced, we will always do our due diligence with locating the missing laundry item(s).  If we are not able to locate the item(s), the circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our Club General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager. 
  7. It is advisable to utilize this service only for your basic workout items that can sustain high heat in the washing and drying process.
