SKI FIT - Get ready for the slopes
If you are getting ready for skiing this winter, take advantage of the ski specific sessions being offered at the club.
Tuesday and Thursday morning Boot camp at 5:30 -6:15 am now incorporates ski specific exercises. Meet in front of the Trellis Spa by the outdoor equipment and run to the Performance Zone, where Personal trainer Bob Talamini will guide you through the session.
Every Tuesday at 5:30 - 6:00 pm Personal Trainer Matt Blackwell will get you prepared for the slopes in the 360 studio in a smaller group setting. Matt also offers other times or program designs per request.

Foundational Performance Training
Are you interested in improving your sports performance?
Personal Trainer, Eric Vaughn is now offering sports performance training, specializing in baseball performance primarily for middle school and high school athletes. The training will not only help improve performance, but also reduce the risk of injuries. Adult & Child Survival Classes
Classes are meant to teach skills necessary for a 1 or 2 day unplanned
stay in the wilderness.....not training to be lost on an island for 2
* 2 hour class
* Classes include:
*Survival kit: survival blanket/shelter, fire starter, whistle, rope, signal mirror, compass and a few other survival items.
* Discussion about what is important when surviving for a couple of days.
* How to make a shelter with rope & tarps
* How to start a fire with fire proof matches, flint striker, & bow drill
* Signaling with a whistle & mirror
* Basic navigation with a map & compass
* A final test scenario

RUN STRONG CLASSES
Stop Running, Start Training! If you're ready to get the most out of your run workouts, join Andrew Chaddick for Run Strong. Run Strong will incorporate a mix of intervals, hills, sprints, and strides. Join Andrew for Run Strong every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:15 pm in the Fitness Center. Massage at the Club
Massage therapy has just been referenced in the March 13th, 2012 issue of the Wall Street Journal as being very beneficial in relieving pain and disability. Some of the benefits of the massage even lasted more than nine months after treatment! Here at The Houstonian Club we offer massage with Licensed Therapist, Carey Wallace. Carey has 14 years of experience and specializes in sports recovery and muscle balancing. He also teaches clients proper approaches by using specialized tools such as the foam rollers and tennis balls. Carey has worked with the U.S. Olympic Dive Team from 2004-2008 and even traveled with them to China in 2004! Let RSU Shape You Up!
The Spring Revolution Shape Up (RSU) classes begin April 13th and run through June 5th. This is the perfect opportunity to get in the best shape of your life and our experts are here to help. RSU works with all fitness levels and includes a comprehensive weight management program incorporating nutrition, cardiovascular exercise and resistance training.Classes are offered four times each year: a 12-week class in the winter, an eight-week class in the spring, a six-week class in the summer, and an eight-week class in the fall. There are four class options available. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 10 to 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to noon. Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 5:30 to 7 p.m.
