The Houstonian Summer Descriptions of Camps 2016:
Our Summer Camps were designed to allow parents the opportunity to customize their child’s camp experience. Parents and their children can choose from a wide variety of exciting activities based on their interests. We are offering morning camps from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and afternoon camps from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lunch for all camps take place from 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. We also have an early morning drop off from 8am – 9am if you are interested the fee is $100 per child/per week.

Abrakadoodle (Ages 3 & 4, 5 -12) – is the most comprehensive international art education company of its kind, offering extensive visual arts classes. Classes inspire children’s imagination by immersing them in such forms as painting, sculpture, mosaics, collage, digital design, paper art, stamping, anime, sketching, studio art foil embossing and more. Minimum of children for camp is 5; maximum is 15. $300 per week per child
Basketball Camp (Ages 5 - 12)
Rock A Rim – This is a three-hour camp where participants will learn basic fundamentals of the game, which include passing techniques, dribbling, ball handling, proper shooting form, offense and defense principles and much more. The camp offers games and competition to ensure the children apply the fundamentals they have learned during the camp. The children will be divided into their own skill level. This camp will keep your children having fun this summer. Minimum of children for camp is 5; maximum is 30. $300 per week per child or $70 daily per child
Extended Drills Tennis Camp (Ages 4-16)
Extended Drills will continue to help children develop their skills in tennis, in eye-hand coordination, forehand, backhand overhand serves and drills, based on their skill level. They will work on their game-like situations on the court. Minimum of children for camp is 5; maximum is 30. $144 per week per child or $50 daily per child
Jr. All Star Camps (Ages 3 & 4) - are specifically and exclusively designed for children of the Houstonian Club Members. Our goal is to help children develop healthy lifestyles, exercise routines and good nutrition that last a lifetime. Minimum of children for camp is 5; maximum is 24. $185 per week per child, $125 sibling rate per child per week or $40 daily per child
Mad Science (Ages 5 - 12) – encourages scientific literacy in children in an age when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic and we don’t stop there. Minimum of children for camp is 12; maximum is 20. $300 per week per child
Padel & Swim Camp (Ages 4 - 16)
Padel & Swim Camp will help children develop their eye-hand coordination, forehand, backhand overhand serves and drills based on their skill level, with an element of free swimming. Minimum of children for camp is 5; maximum is 20. $300 per week per child or $70 daily per child
Recipe 4 Success (Ages 5 - 12) – Recipe for Success Foundation has created a complimentary curriculum that explores geography, language and food traditions of each country along the trail. Campers will "travel” to and cook their way through Italy, Greece, the Middle East, China and India, while exploring the importance of a balanced plate, preparing healthy meals and learning to be a real food detective. Campers will have the opportunity to plant their own edible fruits and veggies, learn about organic gardening practices and harvest from The Houstonian’s gardens. After a week at camp, children will:
•Be well-versed in a variety of countries’ traditions, cultures, geography and food.
•Have a solid foundation in basic culinary skills, techniques and terms.
•Be analytical food detectives.
•Have an understanding for organic gardening practices and procedures.
Minimum of children in for camp is 5; maximum is 15. $300 per week per child
Robotics (Ages 5-12) – is to excite, inspire and motivate young minds about the important, impact, as well as fun of robotics technology in today’s world. We aim to simulate student’s imagination and creativity by encouraging them to exploring them to explore, build and express confidence and independence through our hands-on interactive robotics program. Minimum of children in for camp is 5; maximum is 30. $300 per week per child
Splash Camp – swimming camps. (Ages 3 to 4, 5 to 7, 8 to 12)
Orange: ages 3 to 4
1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
30 minute Beginner/Novice group: skills include safely entering the water, floating on front and back, rolling over and introduction to freestyle. They also will participate in a safety day where they will learn rules and how to safely have fun while visiting the pool. Minimum of children in for camp is three; maximum is 8. $88 per week per child
Red: ages 5 to 7
1:45 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
45 minute Intermediate: Skills include freestyle, back stroke, intro to breaststroke, lateral breathing and intro to diving. They also will participate in a safety day where they will learn pool rules and how to help in an emergency situation. Minimum of children in for camp is 3; maximum is 6. $120 per week or $30 daily per child
Blue: ages 8 to 12
1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
1 hour Advanced: skills include learning proper technique and perfecting all four competitive strokes, endurance and speed. They also will learn how to properly use pool equipment to aid a successful workout. Minimum of children in for camp is 3; maximum is 8. $150 per week or $30 daily per child
Tennis Camp (Ages 4 - 16)
Tennis Camps are specially and exclusively designed for children of The Houstonian Club Members. Tennis Camp will help children develop their skills in tennis. In their eye-hand coordination, forehand, backhand overhand serves and drills based on their skill level. Minimum of children for camp is 5; maximum is 50. $300 week per child or $70 daily per child
