Aquatics Staff

Erica Meyer, Aquatics Director

Bachelor of Science, Exercise Physiology, Ohio State University

Erica Meyer has worked with The Houstonian for 23 years, first as an Instructor, and now as Aquatics Director. A two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, Erica represented the USA as part of an All-Star Team which competed internationally, 1976-77. In the 1990’s, she served as a member of the Master’s National Champions team from The Houstonian. Along with her work leading the Aquatics programs, she is also the head coach for The Kinkaid Falcons Middle and Upper School Swim Teams. Within the Aquatics Industry The Houstonian’s programs have received industry national recognition being selected as the Best Swim Club/Country Club Program for 2007 by Aquatics International Magazine.

As the team leader for Aquatics, she strives to provide programming that will introduce children and adults to a wide variety of fitness and fun at the pools.

Mark Hahn, SwimFit Coordinator

Bachelor of Business Administration, University of Houston

Mark Hahn is a native of Iowa, but has lived in Houston since 1975. He joined the Houstonian Aquatics Department in 1996 as a part-time coach. As the SwimFit Coordinator, (a program that trains all abilities of swimmers from the novice to the competitive in a group environment) he oversees adult and children’s swim programs. This year will be the seventh as Head Coach of the Houstonian Bluefins the club’s summer league swim team. Also, Mark has been the Coach of the Second Baptist School swim teams for the past six years.

Mark has a background in swimming that started with age group, high school and collegiate swimming. He joined a Masters program in 1990 and has competed at 14 USMS National Swim Meets, with 17 individual Top 5 finishes and two National Championships. He has competed in open water races in Minnesota, California, Texas and Hawaii.

Linda Griffeth, Water Fitness Coordinator

With 27 years of experience in the Aquatics field, Linda Griffeth brings a wealth of knowledge to The Houstonian Aquatics Programs. Linda teaches water aerobics, aquatics personal training, arthritis, back-rehab, aqua-jogging, water walking, aqua-pilates, water-yoga and swimming. Noted for her expertise in local newspapers, her classes have also been recommended by nationally acclaimed magazines like Allure and her articles are frequently published in international Aquatics magazines such as AKWA. She is a Master Instructor and Continuing Education provider for the A.E.A and U.S W F.A.. In 1999, Linda earned the title of National Champion Water Fitness Instructor for the USA, and she placed 2nd Overall in the International Category.
